Designeers Membership Terms
Designeers is operated by Style Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales ("Designeers", "we", "us"). These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the agreement between you and us when you become a member.
1. What membership is
Designeers membership admits you to a curated community for the global design world. Depending on your tier, membership includes access to The Club, our digital member space; the member calendar of Salons, gatherings and events; destination intelligence and member content; and, at Studio level, a member showcase, eligibility for the Designeers Gallery, and personal introductions.
Membership is a community and access product. It does not include, and can never include, editorial coverage in the Designeers Journal or inclusion in The BlackBook. Editorial decisions and BlackBook selection are made independently by our editors and cannot be requested, sponsored or purchased at any tier.
2. Tiers and prices
The current tiers and annual prices are shown on our Membership page. Your price is confirmed at the point of payment. Clauses 1 to 11 apply to all tiers; clause 12 applies additionally to Studio memberships.
Protected rates. Your joining rate is protected for as long as your membership remains continuous. If prices rise, your renewal continues at the rate you joined at. If your membership lapses or is cancelled and you later rejoin, you rejoin at the then-current rate.
3. Joining and admission
Membership begins with a submission or application, which we read personally. We may accept or decline any submission at our discretion, and we are not obliged to give reasons. No payment is taken unless and until you are admitted. Your membership starts on the date your first payment is successfully completed.
4. Payment and renewal
Membership is annual and payment is taken in advance through our payment provider, Stripe. Your membership renews automatically each year on your joining anniversary, at your protected rate, unless you cancel before the renewal date.
We will send a reminder to your registered email address before each renewal. Where an instalment plan has been agreed in writing, all instalments fall due within the membership year and the membership year is not divisible.
5. Your right to cancel (cooling-off)
If you join as a consumer, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of the date your membership starts, without giving a reason, and receive a full refund. To cancel within this period, email contact@designeersclub.com from your registered address.
If you access member spaces or attend member events within the 14-day period, you agree that we may deduct a proportionate amount for the membership already used before refunding the balance.
6. Cancelling and lapsing
You may cancel your membership at any time by emailing contact@designeersclub.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current membership year; membership fees already paid are not refundable outside the 14-day cooling-off period. When your membership ends, your access to member spaces, the member calendar and member benefits ends with it, and your protected rate is released.
7. Conduct
Designeers is a professional community, and membership assumes courtesy toward fellow members, our team and our partners, in our spaces and at our events. We may suspend or end a membership where conduct falls seriously below that standard, where membership was obtained through false information, or where continued membership would in our reasonable view harm the community. If we end a membership under this clause part-way through a year, we will refund the unused portion of the year on a pro-rata basis, except in cases of serious misconduct.
8. Membership is personal
Membership belongs to the named individual or, for studio and house memberships, the named practice, and may not be transferred, shared or resold. Log-in credentials for member spaces are for the member's use only.
9. Events and third parties
Member events, Journeys and experiences may carry their own booking terms, prices and cancellation conditions, which will be shown at the time of booking. Some member spaces are hosted on third-party platforms; your use of those platforms is also subject to their own terms.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and it will apply from your next renewal. If you do not accept a material change, you may cancel with effect from that renewal.
11. The legal frame
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Our liability to you is limited to the membership fees you have paid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim; nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Where these terms conflict with the website Terms and Conditions, these terms prevail for members.
12. Studio memberships
The following applies additionally to Studio members.
Showcase and Gallery. Studio membership includes a member showcase and eligibility for the Designeers Gallery. Eligibility means your work will be considered; selection for the Gallery, and the choice of which pieces appear, remains at our editorial and curatorial discretion. Showcase and Gallery presence are presentation and discovery only, and end when membership ends.
No commission. We take no commission, fee or percentage on any sale, commission or engagement arising from your presence in the showcase, the Gallery or the network. The clients and relationships you build through Designeers are yours.
Your content. You retain all rights in the images, text and materials you provide. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display them in the showcase, the Gallery, member spaces and reasonable promotion of the membership, for as long as you are a member and, for content already published, a reasonable period after. You confirm you own or have cleared the rights in everything you provide, including photography, and that its display by us will not infringe anyone else's rights.
Application and payment. Studio membership follows a written application and a conversation. Payment is due on acceptance, annually in advance, or by an agreed instalment schedule; all instalments fall due within the membership year and the membership year is not divisible.
Introductions. We make introductions in good faith and on the basis of what we know of both parties. We are not a party to, and accept no responsibility for, any engagement, contract or transaction between members or between members and third parties.
