Tara McCauley
interior designer
Tara McCauley is a Manhattan-based interior designer whose work brings together colour, pattern, history and a playful sense of personality. Drawing on influences from art history, fashion, film and travel, her interiors are romantic, layered and thoughtfully eclectic, often pairing unexpected periods, materials and objects to create spaces that feel both considered and alive.
After apprenticing for eight years under designer Nick Olsen, McCauley developed a distinctive approach rooted in storytelling and the art of collecting. Vintage pieces, contemporary art and antiques are brought into dialogue with one another, creating interiors that reveal new connections over time. Her practice extends beyond residential design into retail, events and sets, where her interest in atmosphere and visual world-building takes on a more immersive expression.
