Galaxy Chair 01

The GALAXY Chair 01 by Eva Szumilas, created exclusively for Studiotwentyseven, is a sculptural expression of connection, material, and form. Upholstered in Alcantara and set on a black painted walnut frame, the chair balances softness with structure, inviting both tactile and visual engagement. Subtle cast brass studs and inlay details punctuate the surface, introducing a quiet rhythm that echoes the language of the wider Galaxy Collection. The piece moves between intimacy and monumentality, functioning as seating while holding a strong spatial presence.

About the Designer
Eva Szumilas is a Polish-Lebanese designer whose multidisciplinary practice merges Bauhaus clarity with a sculptural, materially rich sensibility. Based in Beirut, her work reflects a dialogue between structural precision and emotional storytelling, shaped by a cross-cultural perspective spanning Poland, Cyprus, Ireland, and Lebanon. With a background in architecture, she approaches each piece as both spatial and narrative, where proportion, material, and craftsmanship are carefully considered. Collaborating closely with master artisans, Szumilas integrates traditional techniques into contemporary forms, resulting in objects that feel timeless yet deeply expressive.
