Lamiss Akar

lighting and FURNITURE

Lamiss Akar is a Lebanese collectible designer whose work sits between sculpture and functional design. Known for her sculptural furniture, lighting, and collectible objects, Akar creates tactile pieces that explore movement, emotion, and materiality through fluid forms and expressive detailing.

Working across ceramic, textile, and wood, her practice draws from Lebanon’s layered cultural landscape, resulting in chairs, lamps, and objects that feel instinctive, tactile, and deeply personal. Fringe, soft silhouettes, and rich textures introduce a sense of motion and corporeality, blurring the boundary between contemporary furniture design and sculpture.

Through a nuanced use of colour, material, and form, Akar is contributing to a new generation of contemporary Middle Eastern design voices, creating collectible works that prioritise emotional resonance as much as function.

Designeers Says

Lamiss Akar’s sculptural, instinct-led practice blurs the boundary between body and function through expressive furniture and collectible design objects shaped by material, movement, and emotional depth. Her work carries a tactile, almost corporeal quality, where intuition guides form as much as structure, resulting in pieces that feel sensory, fluid, and quietly alive.
