Your studio emphasises "Poetry in Design” and the idea of poetic spaces. How does this philosophy manifest in your projects?

Amalia Boier

Interior design, like poetry, expresses the intangible, revealing beautiful, meaningful stories through timeless design. It evokes deep emotions, crafting profound experiences with refined materials, rich layers, and unexpected details. With thoughtful curation, it articulates with economy, balancing authenticity and intentionality. Like poetry’s rhythmic flow, well-designed spaces create harmony, enhancing everyday life with effortless elegance.

How do you incorporate storytelling into your interior designs?

Amalia Boier

We believe every space has a story to tell. Our design process is deeply rooted in storytelling, ensuring that each project reflects the unique identity, aspirations, and lifestyle of our clients. By thoughtfully curating elements, textures, colours, materials, and details, we craft spaces that are not only visually stunning but also meaningful and personal. Our bespoke approach ensures that every design is tailored to create livable experiences, where our clients can make lasting memories in a home that truly feels like their own.

Can you share an example where a client's narrative influenced the design outcome?

Amalia Boier

A great example is our Hampstead Family Project, where the client wanted a home reflecting each family member’s needs. We designed every space with bespoke furniture and joinery, ensuring perfect proportion, comfort, and seamless functionality. The result is more than a home—it’s a personalised expression of lifestyle, warmth, and effortless living—one of our most meaningful poetic spaces to date.

Why do you believe bespoke interior design is essential for enhancing daily life and mood?

Amalia Boier

Bespoke interior design is essential because it shapes spaces around the way you truly live. Every individual interacts with their home differently, and a tailored approach ensures each detail aligns with personal needs, architectural nuances, and lifestyle. Thoughtful design enhances daily life effortlessly, creating a seamless blend of function, comfort, and beauty, where every space feels intuitive, uplifting, and uniquely yours.

Are there designers or artists you admire who have influenced your work?

Amalia Boier

While I admire many designers and draw inspiration from their work, the true influence on my designs comes from my clients and requirements, their tastes, lifestyles, and personal stories. Each project becomes a reflection of who they are, and that’s what really shapes my creative direction.

Is there a particular project you've worked on that holds special significance for you?

Amalia Boier

I dedicate the same level of research, effort, and attention to each one to ensure I meet and exceed expectations. That said, the project that stands out the most is always the next one. I constantly strive to push boundaries, grow creatively, and deliver even better results each time.

Do you have any daily routines that help foster creativity and productivity?

Amalia Boier

I start my mornings with nature walks since I live next to a park, it helps clear my mind and set the tone for the day. I also try to meditate regularly. Being a naturally energetic person, I’ve learned the importance of slowing down during stressful periods to stay grounded. Pilates and strength training in a hot room are also part of my routine, exercise is essential for both my body and my mind. For inspiration and a good life, I love to travel. Immersing myself in new cultures, exploring history, or staying in unique, luxurious places always fuels my creativity and gives me a fresh perspective.

If you hadn't pursued a career in interior design, what other profession might you have explored?

Amalia Boier

I live and breathe design, art, and philosophy, so interior design has always felt like a natural path for me. But if I had ever reconsidered my career, I think I would’ve loved to be a writer-philosopher. I’m deeply empathetic and truly care about people, so the idea of understanding the human mind and helping others on a deeper level really resonates with me.

Your favourite destination in the world to get inspired?

Amalia Boier

I’ve travelled a lot in my 20s and learned so much from those experiences. I don’t think I have one single favourite destination, what inspires me most are places that feel exotic, rich in culture and hospitality, with incredible design and architectural details. I have a deep love for Asia, and although I’ve never been to Australia, it’s somewhere I’d love to explore for inspiration.

Name three interior design suppliers you love working with?

Amalia Boier

I love working with Gilly Nicolson for their luxurious, boutique bespoke bedlinen—they always bring a refined touch to a space. Quintessa Art is another favourite, offering beautiful, custom artworks tailored to the specific needs of each project. I also enjoy using Gessi for their exceptional sanitary ware and Pierre Frey and Casamance for their lush, high-quality fabrics. Beyond that, I collaborate with a range of artists and artisans to deliver truly bespoke, luxury elements. I’m always adding new names to my little black book of trusted suppliers.

What do you wish clients knew before engaging an interior designer?

Amalia Boier

The depth of work involved behind the scenes. Every project requires meticulous research, thoughtful planning, and seamless coordination across many layers. It's also a highly collaborative process, understanding your lifestyle, preferences, and availability is essential. The more engaged and communicative the client, the more tailored and exceptional the outcome can be. It’s about creating something truly bespoke, and that takes time, trust, and shared commitment.
